- Hire vs. Overtime / Second Crew Break-EvenIf booked demand outpaces this capacity, decide how to close the gap.
- Crew Capacity vs. Booked Demand GapYou've already sized your realistic job capacity; check the whole-business hours gap against it.
- Seasonal Capacity & Staffing SmoothingIf your off-season demand drop shows up in your booked capacity, size the smoothing decision against it.
Methodology
Formula: net hours per crew per week = (work hours × work days) - (non-billable hours × work days). Max jobs per week = total net hours across all crews / average job hours. Recommended jobs per week applies a safety buffer on top and rounds down, since jobs are discrete.
Assumption: "average job hours" is wall-clock time one crew spends on a typical job, crew size doesn't enter this formula directly, it's already baked into how long a job takes.
Limitation: assumes uniform job length, doesn't account for a mix of very short and very long jobs in the same week.
