By opening any calculator on MarginWorkshop, you're accepting the terms below. There's no account to create and nothing to sign, so this page is the whole agreement.

What you're getting

A free set of arithmetic tools for contractors: markup and margin conversion, loaded labor cost, billable rate, job profit checks, and a handful of trade-specific calculators. You bring the numbers, MarginWorkshop does the math and shows its work. That's the entire product, there's no paid tier, no upsell, and no data resold to anyone.

Ownership and reuse

The site's design, code, and written explanations belong to MarginWorkshop. Screenshotting a result to send to a customer or partner is fine. Reproducing the calculators themselves, or scraping the site to rebuild them elsewhere, is not permitted without asking first.

Accuracy is on you to confirm

A calculator only knows what you typed in or accepted as a default, both of which are shown on the engine's own page and explained further on Methodology. MarginWorkshop makes no promise that a result matches your actual job cost, your market, or your books, and carries no liability if it doesn't. Check any number against your own records before it goes into a bid, a hire, or a purchase.

Not a professional in the room

Nothing on this site is legal, tax, accounting, licensing, or insurance advice, and using it creates no advisory relationship of any kind. The Disclaimerspells out what each family of calculation does and doesn't cover.

Provided as is

The site is offered with no warranty, express or implied, and MarginWorkshop disclaims liability for any loss connected to using it or trusting its output. Free tools carry no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular job.

If these terms change

An update here takes effect as soon as it's posted; there's no separate notice mechanism since there are no accounts to notify. Reach out with questions athelp@marginworkshop.com.
