Revenue per Field Employee
See whether your total revenue per field employee is on target, ahead, or behind a healthy production benchmark, across the whole business.
How we got here
- Revenue per employee = total revenue / headcount = $500,000 / 4 = $125,000
- Expected = required rate × hours × utilization = $100 × 1600 × 75% = $120,000

Methodology
Formula: revenue per employee = total annual revenue / field headcount. Expected benchmark = required billable rate × billable hours × expected utilization. Gap = actual - expected.
Assumption: "field headcount" means field employees only, not office or admin staff. Expected utilization defaults to 75%, an editable assumption.
Limitation: this operates at the whole-business headcount level. If you think in crews rather than total headcount, see Revenue per Crew Benchmark instead.
