Revenue per Crew Benchmark

Compare a crew's actual revenue against the benchmark a crew its size should generate at a healthy utilization rate.

On target$10,000 vs. benchmark (4.2%)
Expected revenue$240,000 / year
Actual revenue$250,000 / year
How we got here
  1. Expected revenue = required rate × crew size × hours × utilization = $100 × 2 × 1600 × 75% = $240,000
  2. Gap = actual - expected = $250,000 - $240,000 = $10,000 (4.2%)

Methodology

Formula: expected revenue = required billable rate × crew size × billable hours per worker × expected utilization. Gap = actual revenue - expected revenue.

Assumption: expected utilization defaults to 75%, a commonly cited billable-utilization target range for small field-service crews runs roughly 70-85%. This is an editable assumption, not a hard rule.

Limitation: a gap within +/-10% is treated as "on target." This engine flags a gap, it does not diagnose the cause, see Crew Utilization Rate & Idle Capacity Cost if the gap looks like an under-producing crew.
