Crew Bonus/Incentive Structure Break-Even

Find out whether a crew bonus or incentive structure pays for itself, and the minimum productivity lift it needs to break even.

Does not pay off at your estimated lift-$6,000 net value
Value from lift$0
Break-even lift needed5.7%
How we got here
  1. Value from lift = revenue × lift × margin = $250,000 × 0.0% × 42.4% = $0
  2. Net value = value from lift - bonus cost = $0 - $6,000 = -$6,000
  3. Break-even lift = bonus cost / (revenue × margin) = $6,000 / ($250,000 × 42.4%) = 5.7%

Methodology

Formula: value from lift = crew revenue × productivity lift × contribution margin. Net value = value from lift - bonus cost. Break-even lift = bonus cost / (crew revenue × contribution margin).

Assumption: the productivity lift is entirely your own estimate, this engine never invents or supplies a benchmark for it. It only prices a supplied estimate and shows the minimum lift needed to break even, as a plausibility check.

Limitation: this does not predict whether a bonus structure will actually produce a given productivity lift, only whether a given lift would be worth it.
